Teachers protest delay in Ignou B.Ed results
Close to 700 primary school teachers, who had enrolled for a BEd degree course with the Indira Gandhi National Open University’s (Ignou) Pune regional centre, are up in arms over the delay in declaration of results for their final exams held in December 2010.
The teachers have complained that the delay has impacted their future career prospects including promotions and higher pay scales, owing to inefficiency of the Ignou Pune regional centre.
The Maharashtra Rajya Prathamik Shikshak Samiti, which has taken up the cause of these teachers, has now threatened an agitation in front of the Ignou office at Senapati Bapat road from May 4.
