IGNOU to honour all former VC
Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is honouring the founder Education Minister, Mr. K. C Pant who piloted the IGNOU bill in 1985 and the all former Vice-Chancellors in a special silver jubilee felicitation function on 1 st October 2010.
Dr. K.C Pant, former Union Minister who piloted the bill of IGNOU in 1985 has given consent to be the Chief Guest of the function on 1st October 2010 at 3:00 PM at Convention Centre, IGNOU.
IGNOU had its Vice-Chancellor as Late Prof G Ram Reddy, First VC, succeeded by Prof V.C Kulandai Swamy, Prof. Ram Takwale, Prof A.W Khan and Prof. H.P Dixit.
IGNOU in its 25 years of existence has created record of sorts at national and International level.
IGNOU was promoted in 1985 to offer higher education opportunities to students from all sections of society, particularly the marginalized and disadvantaged living in rural areas.
