In order to provide transport facilities to its students and staff, Indira Gandhi National Open University (Ignou) has launched a special campus bus service. The buses will ply between Saket and the campus at Maidan Garhi in the morning and evening.
Ignou vice-chancellor V N Rajsekharan Pillai flagged off the inaugural Students’ Special Bus Service from the campus. Speaking on the occasion, Pillai said, “We are now looking at providing a hostel for our students soon to make Ignou campus more vibrant and community oriented.”
The two 45-seater buses have been introduced for the benefit of students, especially for those who come to attend interactive programmes on the campus. The service is free for students. They will be required to show their identity cards to avail the service.
